Drawing from the Italian Renaissance: Methods & Materials
Inspired by the drawings of Italian Renaissance masters such as Raphael, DaVinci, Michelangelo and more, learn to draw using the mediums of charcoal, ink and metalpoint.
Begin with a visit to the exhibition, Drawing the Italian Renaissance, at the King's Gallery, Buckingham Palace to view work by various artists and the many drawings techniques used in their
works. Then, guided by tutor Gabriel Chaim explore the drawing methods and materials for yourself.
This course will cover drawing with charcoal (black and in colour), metalpoint and ink. The course will also cover preparation of materials such as tinted papers, supports and ground from bone ash.
