Indian Miniature Painting: Elephants
This course will look at how the Indian elephant is represented in Indian miniature painting from the revered diety Ganesha to the playful creatures as seen in the royal paintings of Jodphur. The techniques will be explored of how to create the delicate Mughal elephants, alongside the expressive Kota elephants of Rajasthan.
Paper preparation, staining, and burnishing will form the first part of this course, followed by brush techniques, colour flooding and colour blending. This will culminate in a series of your very own Indian Miniature elephants.
